Willemstad, May 2026 - Curaçao welcomed over 72,000 stay-over visitors in March, marking a 14% increase compared to last year. Notably, North America surpassed Europe for the first time as the island’s largest source market.

Growth was seen across all regions, with the Caribbean showing the strongest increase (+33%), followed by South America (+22%), North America (+17%), and Europe (+5%).

The United States accounted for a record number of visitors, with over 22,000 arrivals, most of whom stayed in resorts. Canada also saw growth (+17%). The Netherlands remains an important market, contributing nearly 23,000 visitors, who tend to stay longer and more often choose non-resort accommodations.

On average, visitors stayed almost eight nights on the island in March. In the first quarter of 2025, Curaçao welcomed more than 215,000 stay-over tourists, in addition to over 308,000 cruise passengers. The tourism sector reports a strong start to the year.
