According to the newly released Caribbean Island Safety Index 2025, compiled by the experts at Always All Inclusive (a Sandals Resorts initiative), Curaçao ranks tied for 3rd place among the region’s safest islands, with an impressive score of 9.0. Only Barbados (9.2) and Aruba (9.3) ranked higher.
Why Curaçao earned a top spot:
• Low crime rates relative to other islands
• High-quality healthcare system, following Dutch medical standards
• Minimal hurricane risk, thanks to its location outside the hurricane belt
• Tourist-friendly infrastructure, including reliable roads and services
But safety is just part of Curaçao’s appeal. From its vibrant culture and colorful architecture to world-class diving spots and warm hospitality, the island offers a complete and unforgettable experience.
The index evaluated U.S. travel advisories, hurricane exposure, crime data, and healthcare readiness, sourcing data from the U.S. State Department, WHO, NOAA, and local law enforcement.
Whether you're a traveler, investor, or part of the tourism industry, Curaçao proves that safety and beauty can go hand in hand.
